The Avon and Somerset Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC),
Sue Mountstevens, wishes to appoint an Independent Chair to the Lammy Review Group of the Avon and Somerset Local Criminal Justice Board.

We are looking for a driven, dedicated and determined person to oversee the recommendations in the influential Lammy Review across Avon and Somerset. David Lammy MP carried out an independent review of the treatment of, and outcomes for, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) individuals in the criminal justice system (CJS). He made a series of recommendations about tackling racial bias in the justice system.

The role will lead the Lammy Review work independently on behalf of the Avon and Somerset Local Criminal Justice Board, which includes all local criminal justice organisations in the area. The Independent Chair must be passionate about addressing the over-representation of BAME people in the criminal justice system and the treatment and outcomes of individuals and local communities. The candidate must be familiar with and respected by the key BME community groups in the Avon & Somerset area.
