Consultation on StreetCare Winter Maintenance Changes 2018

posted 23 Apr 2018, 08:56 by Phil Handy
South Gloucestershire Council is holding a consultation on proposed changes to the  precautionary salting routes in South Gloucestershire which would take effect from winter 2018/19.

The key points of the new proposal are to make savings in financial terms (£100,000) by reducing the number gritters in the fleet by two, and to reduce the amount time spent by drivers treating the highway network by removing approximately 30km of roads from the precautionary salted network.

SGC are keen to hear from a range of individuals and organisations on how these proposed changes might impact them, in order to help them make a final decision on how to make this financial saving.

The consultation is open until end of day Monday 18th June
