Jubilee Weekend

posted 8 Mar 2012, 07:20 by Phil Handy
Several organisations, groups and businesses in Frampton Cotterell and Coalpit Heath are coming together to arrange a series of events over the long weekend holiday at the beginning of June this year.

The main aim is to bring the community together and for all ages and abilities to have some fun.

The Beacon in the Centenary Field will be lit and we expect to have a variety of events such as:
fireworks, cream teas, BBQ, dances (various – evening and day), treasure hunt, exhibition of memorabilia (Jubilee era), face painting, live music (various – evening & day), singing, lantern-making and procession, local detective walks, miniature train rides, picnics, beetle drive etc…..

If you (or your organisation) are interested, have any suggestions, would like to help in any way or would like to sponsor an activity then please get in touch AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

3rd June is also the Big Lunch, an Annual National Day – an excuse for neighbours to get together for picnic, supper, street party or whatever takes your fancy.

If you wish to apply to close your street, it is free this year but you will need to apply to S Glos Council (Highways) by April 6th.
