The June Safer Stronger Community Group Meeting considered a number of important topics:

Sustainable Transport in South Gloucestershire.  SGC have a number of initiatives to encourage local residents to travel more sustainably. For example:
Contact celia.davis@southglos.gov.uk for further information.

Speeding in Nibley between Badminton Road and Westerleigh.  A number of concerns were raised about dangerous driving in Nibley Lane.

Beesmoor Road Recreation Ground.   Residents raised concerns about noise and other disturbances in the park at Beesmoor Road.  This has increased since the erection of the new play equipment in the park.  The police are aware and are monitoring the situation.

Pedestrian safety in Westerleigh.  Concerns were raised about the lack of footpaths in Westerleigh village particularly on the road leading towards Yate.  School children are forced to walk along the roadside putting them at risk.

The next meeting is on 24 September at Iron Acton Village Hall.
