Police and Crime Plan Consultation

posted 24 Jan 2013, 06:47 by Phil Handy
Residents, community groups, businesses and victims of crime will all get the chance to have their say on the first Police and Crime Plan when Commissioner Sue Mountstevens takes to the road.

Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Sue Mountstevens will be touring the six policing districts of Avon and Somerset during January and February to try and capture as many local views as possible.

Ms Mountstevens said: “I am keen to reach as many people as possible because it’s really important that residents tell me what is important to them to ensure that it is our Police and Crime Plan. I know that not everyone wants to respond to an on-line survey that is why I will be out speaking to as many residents as possible.

“For the first time ever there will be a Police & Crime Plan for each of the six policing districts of Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, Somerset East, Somerset West, and South Gloucestershire. Each Plan will set out the vision, aims and objectives for the local area following consultation with you. Policing and crime affects us all and only by working together and tackling the priorities that matter to you can we make Avon and Somerset an even safer place to be.”

PCC Mountstevens will be visiting South Gloucestershire on Thursday 7 February  at the following locations:

10:00 – 12:00 Coniston Community Centre, Patchway

15:00 - 17:00 Hanham Library

Last month Ms Mountstevens launched the online consultation for the Plan at www.consultation.avonandsomerset.police.uk, you can still take part online or pick up a printed survey from local libraries or call 01275 816377.
