South Gloucestershire Discover Festival - 6 September to 4 November 2012

South Gloucestershire Council is coordinating an exciting new festival which draws together many successful celebrations in South Gloucestershire to provide a fantastic programme of activities for 2012. Events featured in the Discover Festival include the Celebrating Age Festival, Active Mind Month, South
Gloucestershire Taste Festival, Out and About in Nature
and Heritage Open Days.

The Discover Festival is an exciting and diverse programme of events for all ages to discover something new in South Gloucestershire.

Discover, enjoy and learn about:
  • local nature 
  • local heritage 
  • local food 
  • life age 50+ 
  • your creativity.
South Gloucestershire Discover Festival 2012 is organised by South Gloucestershire Council, local residents, community groups and businesses. 

Most events are free and include: 
  • visit local historic places during Heritage Open Days including the Rolls Royce heritage collection
  • explore the great outdoors through fungi forays and star gazing events
  • discover great local produce at sampling, demonstration and Apple Day events
  • celebrate age with a range of exciting activities from opera to bowls for the over 50s
  • get creative and learn Chinese origami, jewellery making or portrait drawing.
