Spring Clean along the River Frome

Village Action Litter Busters carried out a spring clean along the River Frome on 28 March 2012.

Andrew Edgington, coordinator of the group, writes:

"A big "Thank You!" to our volunteers who joined a litter picking session on a glorious sunny morning.

We had arranged for a skip to be delivered near Parsonage Bridge and rapidly started to fill it with discarded items near the Frome Valley Walkway. We then moved on to clear both sides of the river down to St Peter's Church. Some of the places we cleared were awkward to get at, and one or two spots were annoyingly inaccessible, but we achieved a lot and the area is looking much the better for it.

The area is well used by people out for a walk and we are delighted to have had the chance to make it so much nicer for everyone to enjoy."
