The Village Action Committee wants to build on our campaigning work in response to concerns of villagers about the impact of traffic in Frampton Cotterell and Coalpit Heath.  The residents survey which formed the basis of the Parish Plan revealed that 73% of villagers were very concerned about the Speed of Traffic around the village. Hence the action being taken to carry out speed watches on key roads affected by speed. 60% were concerned about Volume of Traffic - the sheer numbers of vehicles. 49% were concerned about Lack of Safe Crossing Places.

We are looking at all of these issues and would welcome your specific comments, feedback and suggestions for the future.

Do you agree that we need to reduce the impact of motor traffic in our lovely village? Should we do more to reduce traffic speed?

How about 20 mph limits in residential roads and through the main roads affected by speeding - e.g Church Road and Park Lane?

Should we look at the damage caused by cars parked on pavements and verges; and the dangers this poses by reducing visibility of pedestrians and cyclists?

Can we discourage car use (e.g. school runs) and encourage more walking and use of cycles?

Should more roads be 'Access only' with more restrictions on through traffic? Do we need more safe crossing points?

If you have an opinion you'd like to share, please contact us with your concerns about specific locations.

If you'd like to be involved with the Committee in taking these issues forward please contact us. We know that, for example, there are many dedicated and enthusiastic walkers and cyclists in the village and we would value their experience and local knowledge.
