The Village Festival to mark the Diamond Jubilee in 2012 raised around £1,800. Some of this has been donated to causes within the village including a contribution to the purchase of a defibrillator and a donation towards the Good Neighbours scheme.  The remainder has been reserved to support a potential event in 2013.

The organisers of the festival write:

"Following the huge success of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations on the Centenary Field earlier this year, which attracted well over 1000 people, feedback suggests that many villagers would like there to be another event next year! We are delighted with this response & are considering ways to nurture & facilitate such enthusiasm!

The Jubilee Celebrations were the result of the combined efforts of several local organisations including the Churches Together, Village Action, and the Scout Movement, along with the endorsement of the Frampton Cotterell Parish Council. To take any future project forward & to make it even more of a community event, we believe that there needs to be greater involvement from more villagers, community groups & local businesses.

To this end, we are hoping to establish what level of commitment & enthusiasm there is out there, & are happy to host a ‘kick off’ meeting early in the New Year at which a new Committee can be formed.

If you are interested in being involved or helping to organise an event next year, please could you register your interest by calling Zion United Church Office on 01454 776618 or emailing
We can then contact all interested parties with details of a meeting date."
