Richard Merrick writes:

"The Inspector conducting the Examination in Public of the Council's Core Strategy Proposals has called an additional hearing to be held on Thursday 7th March at 10.00 am at Kingswood Civic Centre High Street, Kingswood.

In an endeavour to satisfy the Inspector's requirements for extra sites which are potentially deliverable in the first five years of the Plan period, the Council has reluctantly identified land East of Morton Way, Thornbury. However, the Inspector has said he is not prepared to include it without first considering other locations. He did not specifically identify Woodlands Farm as one of those other locations, but talked about "The relative merits of various sites at a number of locations including (in no partcular order) Thornbury, Yate/Chipping Sodbury, Severnside and the East and North Fringes....." so we can't be sure that this is good news.

It is understood that residents of the Thornbury area concerned about the possibility of development at Morton Way will be attending the additional Hearing. To show that the objection to further development of Woodlands Farm is also still strong, it would be helpful for some Coalpit Heath and Frampton Cotterell residents to attend the Hearing. You won't be able to join in the discussions but when you sign in you can say on the form that you are from the Keep Woodlands Farm Green action group.

Full detailed Information about the Council's response to the Inspection's questions can be viewed at the SGC Core Strategy webpage or directly by clicking on Docs PSM29/1 and PSM29/2."
