To help people back into employment South Gloucestershire Council Community Engagement, in partnership with City of Bristol College, Job Centre Plus, SGC Community Learning and the Library service, are researching and developing a network of work clubs. Please read on if you are aware of any work clubs in existence in your areas.

Work Clubs provide unemployed people with a place to meet and exchange skills, find opportunities, make contacts, share experiences and receive support. They can take a number of different formats depending on the needs of its membership. For example, an informal club of people supporting each other to find employment in their local library or clubs that offer more support to address issues of literacy and IT skills. The latter often take the guise of more formal courses.

If you are aware of any groups in your local area or within South Gloucestershire that help people find employment please contact South Gloucestershire Council with details or encourage the group to contact them directly.
