Other Community Groups

Neighbourhood Watch

There are a number of Neighbourhood Watch groups in the area where residents work together to improve the safety and security of themselves and their neighbours.

For more information, see Neighbourhood Watch.

Community Engagement Forum

Community Engagement Forums (CEF), previously known as Safer and Stronger Community Groups, are about listening and responding to local people’s real issues. The aims are:

    • to promote pride in the local area as a safe, thriving and pleasant place to live, work and play

    • to reduce crime, disorder and drug and alcohol misuse in the area

    • to empower local people to have a greater voice and influence over local decision making and service delivery by increasing the strength, capacity and engagement of the local community

    • to improve the quality of life of people in the local area by identifying community aspirations, needs and local priorities.

The local group which covers Frampton Cotterell, Westerleigh, Coalpit Heath, Winterbourne, Hambrook, Frenchay and Iron Acton meets three times a year at the Greenfield Centre in Winterbourne. You are welcome to go along and to raise issue of concern to you as well as to meet representatives of local police, fire, health and community services.
